Southern Alps

Stand as a barrier separating the West and East coast of the South Island of New Zealand. This majestic mountain range travels the length of the South Island offering a backdrop to the plains of Southland, Central Otago and Canterbury. During the summer months this rocky outcrop provides high country grazing and scenic walks but during the winter these snow-covered peaks offer some of the best skiing in the world.
